Troubleshooting
Browser game not loading? Run a quick browser check
Most browser ports of 3D games need a few modern browser features. Run the check below, then use the fixes that match what fails.
Browser check
This runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to us or stored. It only tells you which features your browser exposes; it cannot tell you whether a specific game will run.
| Feature | Result | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| WebAssembly | Not run yet | Most ports of native games compile to WebAssembly. |
| WebGL 2 | Not run yet | Used for 3D graphics in many browser ports. |
| SharedArrayBuffer | Not run yet | Some ports use threads, which need it. It also requires a cross-origin isolated page. |
| WebGPU | Not run yet | Newer graphics API. Optional for most of these games. |
| Gamepad API | Not run yet | Needed for controller support. |
Common causes and fixes
The page stays on a loading screen
- Wait. First loads can be slow because game data is downloaded.
- Try a current version of Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a desktop or laptop.
- Reload with the browser cache bypassed once, then try again.
"Please allow JavaScript" or a blank page
- Allow scripts for that page. Some ad and script blockers stop game runtimes.
- Disable extensions for that tab, or try a private window with extensions off.
WebGL 2 or WebAssembly shows as missing
- Update your browser and graphics driver.
- Make sure hardware acceleration is turned on in the browser settings.
Works at home, not at school or work
- Managed Chromebooks and networks often block game sites or features. Follow your organization's rules; we do not help bypass filters.
The game asks for files
- Some fan projects need your own copy of the original game. Check the entry page's requirements. See the game list for each one.
Anything that asks you to install an extension or .exe
- Stop. A genuine browser game runs in the tab. Do not enter account passwords on unfamiliar pages.
